Three species of small snakes were found in the habitat shown on the left.  A small Hidalgo woodland snake (Rhadinea marcellae) and two ground snakes of the genus Stoeria. Stoeria hidalgoensis (lower left) and Stoeria dekayi (lower right) can be found amid leaf litter and under logs where they search the forest floor for their invertebrate prey.
