Erythrolamprus mimus False Coral Snake

This small and secretive snake is known to consume lizards and other snakes.  When frightenedt will hide its head and writhe and coill its tail.  The bite from this species is reported to sometimes cause pain and swelling in humans.  This specimen was found in Mocoron on June 8, 2003 at 12:00 pm.
