Rhinoclemmys annulata  Brown Wood Turtle:  This specimen was discovered in a milpa in Mocoron and the unusual appearance of the shell and face is due to injuries the turtle  received from a forest fire.
Below: A Plastron and close up of ticks found on a specimen collected near Mocoron in June 2005.  This specimen was found alongside a forest stream during the day.  The stream in the far right photo is the location where this specimen was found.
